Tribal Access Portal System
The Tribal Access Portal System (TAPS) is an electronic system that provides limited background information of prospective applicants or current tribal cannabis industry employees to authorized tribal cannabis regulators.
The information provides tribes the ability to verify any job applicant’s past encounters and/or licensing history with other tribes in the cannabis industry. Also, receipt of background check authorization forms by the ITCC can be verified after 24 hours, in a secure, web-based, user-friendly environment.
Tribes with authorized credentials can access the TAPS. The TAPS is available 24 hours, seven days a week. TAPS does not provide the authorized user with access to the results of a background check based search. users can request an applicant's full record from ITCC utilizing the TAPS.
Once a credentialed tribe's designated personnel logs in into TAPS they can submit a search request in the database by providing the applicant’s first name, last name, and previous employing tribe. Once queried TAPS will return:
1) the applicant’s name, alias or aliases, and an expandable employee history file;
2) a list of tribes that the applicant has cannabis industry employment history with;
3) contact information for those employers.
The TAPS derives its information from the following sources*: Tribal, Federal, and State court records.
*Additional international jurisdictions are available upon request.
